Knob Creek Small Batch
Intro:
An unflinching balance of deep, old-style flavor with a natural oak sweetness.
Review:
Nose - Low astringency and a good healthy charred barrel aroma on top of a mellow vanilla and cinnamon spice mixture. It is a great smell.
Rub - A nice grain and grass aroma. And true to the rub, there comes the nice bread smell to boot.
Taste - No heat to the lips, almost a sweetness introduced to the front of the tongue, introduction of the spice on the back of the tongue and then a spicy and delicious finish. Second sip I pick up some pepper and cinnamon flavors along with whatever sweetness is hitting the front of the tongue. A pretty damn good bottle of bourbon. Again, for a long time, I discounted Beam as substandard. The tides are turning my friends! Their product line is impressing me now that I have quit being a catty child and given them an honest shake. It's time to grow up!
Is it worth the $?
I believe I got this for $35 and it is worth that all day long! Getting a backup bottle on the morrow.
