Jefferson's Reserve Twin Oak Custom Barrel

Intro:  This is a new bourbon from Jefferson's Reserve so nothing has been published by the company on their website.  From the web searches I found that this bourbon is a 10 year old bourbon, and sourced.

Review:  The nose...lots of barrel and sweet aromas, not a lot of fumes.

The first sip...no lip burn...a slight ting on the tongue but nothing burning...no burn on the swallow but tons of characters are at this party.  Chocolate, vanilla, woody flavors stand out as the finish continues.  Second sip...no burn...corn and grains on the initial taste but quickly moves to sweetness and a great flavor profile.  Third sip...corn again and definitely a strong oak note.  DO I like this?  It's good but it's not over the top good or a replacement for me for anything in this price point.  Fourth sip...strong corn and grains on that one.  The finish is really good, you just have to power through about 10 seconds of weird corn/grain flavors.

Is it worth the $?  I picked this up at the local store and they didn't know the price so they charged me $60.  After further research...by me immediately leaving the store I knew I had a steal!  MSRP is $80ish.  Add it to your collection, it's cool to have if you are into the Jefferson's experimenting lines.
